Sitting on the Block

I let her know I was taking her picture, and she was mumbling something incoherently at the moment that I was taking this picture. I don't actually know if I am close enough for this to be considered a great photograph, but she is certainly an interesting subject. When I look at this image, I wonder what is in her bag. How long has she been sitting there?

Shy Smile

I have recently been trying out street photography. There was a Zombie Crawl downtown today, so it was a perfect opportunity to get out and get some shots. I didn't use a flash, and I basically just shot everything I saw. I left the tripod in the car and just immersed myself in the crowd. There were a lot of people taking pictures down there, and the zombies mixed in with the regular homeless guys made for an interesting mix of people. I tried as hard as I could to be bold and just get the camera up close. It was a little easier, since these are some camera craving zombies. I think the ease of getting in the zombies face somehow made it easier for me to go ahead and just snap everybody. Some people did not appreciate it, others loved having the camera turned on them. There were some people I made eye contact with that I think were disappointed that I didn't take their picture. It was a fun way to get out of my comfort zone and try my hand at what I consider to be a very cool genre of photography.
